I wanted to blog about something which I find to be an issue in myself sometimes and I'm sure most of women feel this way from time-to-time too. I believe we're too hard on ourselves and we find it difficult to treat ourselves with the kindness that we deserve. Often, we feel we don't even deserve that kindness for whatever reason - I think there's something inside of us that believes we're not good enough. I'll explore the possible reasons and resolutions for this in another blog post soon, but today I want to acknowledge not the things I criticise myself on but instead, the things that make me feel more beautiful.

By this I mean, what makes me feel good about myself? When do I feel my most beautiful? I realised when reflecting on this that feeling beautiful doesn't always mean feeling good about your appearance...

Eating Healthily
For me personally, I find that when I eat healthily and include lots of green foods and leaves (I love my lettuce) in my diet, or fresh fruit smoothies, I feel better for it. Whether that's a scientific thing or a psychological thing (or maybe both) I don't know, but when I'm feeding my body with the best food I can, I feel the best I can too.

Although I don't particularly enjoy sitting out in the sun for long periods of time, I really love it when the sun is shining. It makes me feel healthier and happier when we're blessed with a bright, warm day.

Clear Skin
I suffered from bad skin for all of my teenage years until now - my last! It had a detrimental effect on my confidence and I was always really self-conscious about it. I tried so many products and nothing really made a positive difference. However in the past 6 months or so it's cleared up and it really makes a difference to how I feel about myself. I think it's inevitable that having clear skin makes a girl feel that little more beautiful.

Being Kind
This is one of those "it's what's on the inside that counts" points but if I've helped someone out or done a 'good deed' or even just made a little more effort to be more kind than I feel, it makes me feel better about who I am and therefore, in a sense, more beautiful.

What makes you feel beautiful?
