Another New Life! Newborn Photography

A week ago today, my brand new baby nephew, George Peter Wilkinson (known from here-on as simply Baby George) arrived into the world! So, of course, I had to grab my camera and capture his first hours on planet earth.

I'm sure most of you will know about his big sister, Olivia, who I have spammed my social media accounts with photos of since she was born in 2015. It seems like just yesterday I wrote this blog post about her birth! All I can say is this - expect that all over again because let me tell you something peeps, her little brother? He's absolutely perfect.

Being an auntie to Olivia these past 21 months has been one of the best things to ever happen to me. I have tried to see her every few weeks since she was born, and it has been the most incredible thing watching her transform from a squirmy, sleepy little newborn to a playful, funny, chatty little girl. I longed for the day that she said "Auntie Stephy" and gave me kisses, for the day that she'd be chasing me around the room giggling wildly and with pure joy in her eyes. We're at that point now, and it fills my heart more than I can put into words. It's just the best!!

And now? Now I get to do that all over again. Double the love, double the fun, double the heart-warming moments, double the cuddles. Baby George, born on 7th June 2017, is just as perfect as his sister. He is the spitting image of her, in every way. It's simply magical to see. Although I hear from his lovely mumma that he is currently largely ignored by Olivia (aside from her pointing at him and saying "baby, baby" from time-to-time), I know that he will be adored by her, and she will teach him all about playing with their dogs and bouncing on her trampoline, how to count and how to read, and most importantly, all about the Peppa Pig clan.

I met Baby George for the first time when he was just 16 hours old. He has a mop of long, dark hair (which often sticks up in spikes and is just adorable), and the same rosebud lips and button nose as Olivia. He is healthy, happy and apparently super-chilled-out.

I can't wait to see this little dude grow up and be running around with his sister. I can't wait to see his personality shine through and find out what he likes and dislikes. I can't wait for him to recognise me and rope me into his games like Olivia does now.

Congratulations to my amazing sister and brother, Lucy and Dave, on the birth of gorgeous George, and thank you from the bottom of my heart for bringing him into our lives. Love you all so much xxx
